Kiiko Matsumoto Style of Acupuncture

  • Kiikoís acupuncture style utilizes a systemic, easy to learn, palpatory method which is designed to provide instant feedback.
  • When using this system, a practitioner follows a palpation sequence which, both establishes diagnosis and treatment options.
  • Kiikoís Style addresses the patientís health issues from several levels.
  • By looking more deeply into the structural and/ or constitutional imbalances, which often underlie a patientís symptomatic complaints, the practitioner is able to assist in a more complete and lasting healing.
  • It is precisely this holistic approach which gives a Kiiko Style acupuncturist the ability to help patients with the most complex issues.
  • Often by seeing the patientís problem from this broader perspective, the practitioner can solve difficult cases.

Looking at the classics of Chinese Medicine, Kiiko will show how the Ren is the origin of the organs, and the Du is the source of the meridians. She will discuss how the “straight line” (mouth to anus line) begins to twist and take shape. This “twisting” takes place in the area of Tan Tien and happens early on in life. The effects of this will have far reaching influence. For example, a malrotation can lead to problems such as autoimmune conditions later in life.

Kiiko will discuss how to apply these ideas to treat patients with many different conditions including autoimmune problems - Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn's etc. She will also demonstrate how to use the Ren and Du to help structural problems.
